A travel plan (sometimes referred to as a green travel plan) is a package of measures designed to influence the travel behaviour of individuals, businesses, schools or other organisations through promoting sustainable travel. The general aim is to reduce the negative effects of traffic by encouraging alternatives to single-occupancy car-use.
Sustainable transport includes walking, cycling, using public transport, car sharing, using pool cars and bikes, and using vehicles that minimise carbon emissions, such as electric, LPG, bio diesel and hybrid cars.
Suffolk County Council is now working with businesses, schools, developers and individuals by promoting sustainable travel through travel planning. By using sustainable transport, you can help make Suffolk a more prosperous and dynamic place to live.
